Dear Guests, Residents, and Family Members,

We know many are concerned about the spread of COVID-19 (the new coronavirus) being reported in the media and how it may impact us here at Palm Garden.  Caring for you in a safe and healthy environment is our highest priority.  At this time we have no reported cases in any of our 14 centers nor in our Assisted Living Center.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have recommended a variety of steps to help reduce the potential for the virus to enter our centers.  We are implementing these steps.  However, we need your help in battling COVID-19.  Below are some examples of how you can help protect our guests, residents and family members.

If you have any symptoms of respiratory illness, we request that you do not visit the center. Those symptoms include cough, fever, sore throat, runny nose, and/or shortness of breath. We understand that connecting with family members is incredibly important, and we offer a variety of other ways to do that.  You may use telephone, email, text, the “Send a Card” feature on our website or Facebook.  With an appointment, we can even arrange Skype or Facetime.

We are following CDC recommendations on prevention, including strict handwashing procedures, and in many circumstances, wearing gowns and gloves when interacting with residents who are sick. We will monitor CDC recommendations as they are updated and adjust our plan accordingly.  In addition, we are in close contact with local and state health departments and are following their guidance.  We are posting signs on our entryway doors to notify visitors of the symptoms of COVID-19 and request that you do not enter the building if you are experiencing these symptoms.

We will notify you if any residents or staff are diagnosed with COVID-19. Should you have any questions, or would like assistance reaching a loved one please feel free to contact us at 888-967-6508, or 941-952-9411.  We can arrange communication for you.

Sincerely,

Palm Garden
